MY SPIRITS ARE LOW
(words & music by A. Lukas)
My spirits are low tonight,
I feel like a lonesome motherless child.
I´d wish to just easily take the place
that I face.
But now I´m as weary as can be,
like a leaf taken by the wind out to the sea.
And that´s where I´d rather like to be now,
smelling the salty sea, being with me
lonesome but free.
In these days I wish I´d find someone,
who hugs me and holds me when I am down,
somebody I can always lean on,
who tells me what I need to hear when I´m discontent,
touchy or insecure.
Try to make me smile.
I know it´s hard and you probably won´t make it.
Come on and crown me, I won´t believe it,
Even if somebody honestly means it.
My spirits are low tonight,
I feel like a lonesome motherless child.
I´d wish to just easily take the place
that I face.
